Support Prevention & Early Detection

We support cancer prevention and early detection by creating and promoting evidence-based guidelines and programs to patients, health care professionals, and employers on a variety of issues, including: cancer screening; nutrition and physical activity; tobacco control, cessation, and research; funding to primary care systems to increase cancer screening rates in vulnerable populations; convening and leading initiatives and collaborations to increase colorectal cancer screening rates; working to increase cervical cancer screening rates; and providing state-of-the-science information to health care providers to support efficient practices.

Cancer Control Intervention: We lead and convene national initiatives and collaborations with health care professionals, insurers, and employers, to increase recommended colorectal and cervical cancer screening rates and HPV vaccine uptake.

Cancer Screening: Our rigorously vetted cancer screening guidelines use the latest science to help find cancers early, when they are most treatable, and work to helping people understand and use cancer screening as appropriate.

Community Health Initiatives: Through our community grant programs, we provide funding to primary care systems to implement interventions to increase cancer screening rates in populations who are experiencing health inequity.

Healthy Eating, Active Living Environments (HEALE): Dedicated to creating and promoting encouraging and supporting people in making healthy lifestyle choices, including healthy eating and physical activity. We create and promote guidelines to reduce cancer risk and help survivors make choices to manage symptoms of treatment and reduce risk of recurrence. We support community and worksite action to reduce barriers to physical activity.

Tobacco Control: Our Tobacco Control Center strengthens domestic and global tobacco control efforts through research, advocacy, and community interventions. We prioritize efforts into health disparities in high-burden communities and into youth to prevent them from using tobacco. We also provide access to a program for tobacco users to help quit, including telephone counseling, self-help materials, and referrals to local support programs.

Your donation is 100% tax deductible and will support prevention and early detection. Thank you for your generous support!
